Professor of Clinical Emergency Medicine and the Founding Emeritus Chair of the Department of Emergency Medicine at the American University of Beirut (AUB). He serves as the Deputy Chief of Staff at the AUB Medical Center.

Agency Chief Health and Medical Officer of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). He is triple board certified in Emergency Medicine and Aerospace Medicine. Prior to his position in Washington with NASA, he served as the Dean of Medicine at Des Moines University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine, and Ohio state EMS Director.
